Seeing the scorching heat on June 21, when the NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled, the Delhi government has made a very sensitive and unique decision. To provide relief to parents waiting outside the exam centers for their children in the capital, the Delhi government is going to set up ‘cooling zones’ outside all 97 exam centers.
Along with this, the Delhi government has already announced free travel in DTC buses for NEET aspirants on the day of the exam, that is, June 21.
Parents will get these special facilities in cooling zones
According to an official statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the purpose of these cooling zones set up outside exam centers is to provide comfort and relief to parents sweltering in the sun and heat. The following facilities will be available in these zones
- There will be a comfortable seating arrangement, meaning there will be shades and chairs to protect from the sun.
- To help relieve fatigue, parents will be given ORS solution, cold drinking water, and lemonade for free.
- There will also be tea for people relaxing here and first aid facilities for dealing with emergencies.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the human aspect behind this decision, saying that when children are taking exams, the parents waiting outside also go through a lot of mental and physical stress.Free bus rides for NEET candidates in Delhi on June 21, a big surprise from the CM for parents to
They said that on exam days, people often don’t pay attention to the worry, heat, restlessness, and discomfort experienced by parents. Understanding this human aspect, the Delhi government has decided to ensure that parents do not face any kind of inconvenience outside the exam centers on exam days.

The complete math of exam centers in Delhi
The Chief Minister said that a total of 97 exam centers have been set up in Delhi to smoothly conduct the NEET re-exam. Out of these, 69 centers have been set up in Delhi government schools and 28 centers have been established in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
It is worth noting that the Delhi government is already running 85 cooling zones across the city to protect ordinary citizens from the intense heat and sunstroke, offering people shelter, coolers, and drinking water. Now, specifically on exam days, 97 new temporary cooling zones will operate exclusively for the parents of NEET candidates.
Tight security from the ground to the sky:
To understand this extremely strict physical security cycle, the example of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu comes up: Under the plan, the question papers were first flown from Delhi to Madurai. After that, from Madurai, these papers are being sent to Tirunelveli’s Armed Reserve Ground via an Indian Army helicopter under tight security surveillance.
A mock drill was also organized to make this operation flawless, under which the army’s helicopter successfully conducted a safe landing trial at Tirunelveli ground.
Meanwhile, some claims are floating on social media that the re-exam paper for June 21 has also been leaked. However, the NTA has completely dismissed these claims, saying that there is no basis or evidence for these viral claims and no irregularities related to the re-test have been confirmed.
