‘You can’t fill your stomach with the diplomatic gains of war,’ Singaporean leader exposed Pakistan 2026
‘You can’t fill your stomach with the diplomatic gains of war,’ Singaporean leader exposed Pakistan After playing a role in the Iran-US talks, Pakistan is claiming its diplomatic success. But the former ambassador of Singapore said that a country doesn’t run on diplomacy. He pointed out Pakistan’s economic mess, political leadership, and the army as its biggest problems.

After playing a key role in the talks between Iran and the US, Pakistan is presenting itself as a major diplomatic success. But former Singapore ambassador Bilahari Kausikan has raised a big question on Pakistan’s achievement. He clearly said, ‘Diplomatic success doesn’t fill the stomach of the Pakistani people.’
Speaking at a global conference, Kausikan said that Pakistan made good use of the diplomatic opportunity during the Iran crisis, and this has somewhat improved its image in the eyes of the US. But he added that this doesn’t solve Pakistan’s real problems.
The former ambassador called Pakistan a ‘country on the brink of failure’ and said that its biggest problem is not India or Afghanistan, but its own politicians and military. According to him, Pakistan’s misery is due to its wrong policies and years of poor governance.
All politicians of Pakistan are a waste of time!
Kaushikan said, “You can’t blame geography for everything. It’s just an excuse.” He further said that Pakistan has been mismanaged from the very beginning, and right now he doesn’t see any way out of it.
The former Singaporean ambassador also launched a sharp attack on Pakistan’s political leadership. He said, ‘All politicians in Pakistan are a waste of time, no matter which party they belong to. At the same time, the army is also a big part of this problem.’
The former ambassador also said that despite the recent diplomatic success, the US is not going to lift all the sanctions on Pakistan. According to him, there has been some improvement in the relations between Washington and Islamabad, but it won’t completely normalize ties between the two countries.
Pakistan depends on World Bank and IMF money
Pakistan is currently struggling with a serious economic crisis and is largely dependent on help from institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank to pay off its debts. Meanwhile, according to reports, Pakistan is among the countries in the world where the food crisis is rapidly increasing.

In this situation, Bilahari Kausikan says that Pakistan’s image won’t change just because of successes in foreign policy. Until there are improvements in the country’s economic conditions, political system, and governance, no diplomatic achievement will bring a big change to the lives of ordinary people.
