Ataullah Tarar mentioned the three provinces of eastern Afghanistan—Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar—on ‘X’, saying, ‘These three places were destroyed in precise attacks.’

This case came to light a day after the incident when gunmen and militants equipped with explosives targeted the regional headquarters of the paramilitary Rangers in the southern port city of Karachi, killing three soldiers.

The ceasefire arranged by China fizzled out!

Since February, hundreds of people have been killed in fighting across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The fighting started when Pakistan carried out airstrikes inside Afghanistan, and in response, Afghanistan also launched attacks. Despite several rounds of peace talks mediated internationally, no lasting ceasefire has been achieved.

A few days ago in April, China also held a meeting between both sides. Later, Beijing said that Pakistan and Afghanistan had agreed not to escalate their conflict and to look for a solution. Just a few days later, once again a tense situation seems to have emerged between the two countries. In this case, the ceasefire arranged by China has completely proven to be ineffective.

Since last year, Pakistan has carried out several attacks on the border and inside Afghanistan. In these attacks, Pakistan targeted the alleged hideouts of the Taliban and other armed groups. Pakistan claims that the Taliban government in Afghanistan shelters fighters who carry out deadly attacks inside Pakistan. Kabul has consistently denied these allegations.
