It’s worth noting that students had called for a ‘legislative assembly sit-in’ in protest of irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment exams. During this, when the protesters tried to break through the security cordon, there was a heavy, intense clash with the police. The police had to use lathi charge, water cannons, and tear gas to control the crowd.
