The Ramayana‘s budget isn’t 4000 crores! Yash revealed the truth and explained the math :-The budget of Namit Malhotra’s two-part Ramayana is said to be ₹4000 crore, which is more than six times the budget of any Indian film made so far. Yash has now provided clarification on this.
Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s major film ‘Ramayan’ is in the news due to its large-scale production. It is being said that this is the most expensive Indian film to date. Producer Namit Malhotra had earlier stated that the budget of this film, which is being made in two parts, is equivalent to 4000 crore rupees. Clarifying about the film’s budget, Yash compared it to Hollywood films.
Yash recently appeared on ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, where the host asked him how the scale of ‘Ramayana’ differs from his previous projects, especially considering its ₹4,000 crore budget. In response, Yash made a significant revelation regarding the budget.
What did Yash say about the budget of Ramayana?
On this, Yash said, ‘This is a misunderstanding, so I will clarify it for everyone.’ He further explained, ‘₹4,000 crore is the budget for a two-part film, which also includes release and promotion. It’s just like Hollywood. Our partner (Namit) mentioned this only after including all of this. That’s how accounting works there. They spend an amount on promotion equal to or sometimes even more than the film’s budget because it is a global-level film. But the earnings are also on a global level.’
The actor who played Ravana in the film said that such a big budget was needed to take the movie to a global level.
He said, ‘Cinema is a ‘soft power.’ We all have to work really hard for it. Whatever happens, we will work hard and do our job properly. If not today, then tomorrow we will make it happen. If we don’t do it, someone else will—but it has to happen. That’s how I feel. ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Toxic’ are both attempts to establish Indian cinema as global films.’
When will the movie release?
The trailer of ‘Ramayana’ was recently released. Yash is shown as Ravana in it, while Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi have been cast as Rama and Sita. The film also features Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, and Kunal Kapoor. The movie will be released this Diwali.
