Hormuz closed 2026, then a crisis over oil… Did the US-Iran deal break? Trump’s new proposal THE peace deal between the US and Iran now seems to be falling apart, because after Israel attacked Lebanon, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again, which is making the oil crisis look worse.

Hormuz closed 2026, then a crisis over oil… Did the US-Iran deal break? Trump's new proposal

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed after Israel attacked Lebanon. Iran made this decision just a few days after a peace agreement between the US and Iran. Meanwhile, Trump has put forward a new proposal about Hormuz to the public.

Ignoring Iran’s talk of closing the Strait of Hormuz, Trump mentioned collecting a toll on Hormuz. US President Donald Trump said that during a 60-day ceasefire period between Washington and Tehran, no toll will be charged on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but if the peace deal fails, there is a possibility that the US might impose charges in the future.

Trump went on to say that this toll tax collection will be done to compensate for the losses of Middle Eastern countries. However, Trump did not comment on Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. But again, the closure of Hormuz has increased tensions.

Enter Hormuz at your own risk

The Israeli Core of Guarantor (IRGC) warned ships to stay away from waterways, citing Israel’s actions in Lebanon and the US not keeping its ceasefire commitments. It said that any ship entering the strait would do so at its own risk.

Then the crisis loomed over oil

Iran’s decision seems to be casting a shadow over energy supply once again. This announcement has raised global energy supply concerns because it is a key route for oil and gas exports through the strait. Oil prices might see a jump again after the market opens on Monday.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command said that on Saturday, 55 commercial ships crossed this route carrying more than 17 million barrels of oil and other goods, promising to ensure a continuous flow of commerce.

What did Iran say about Hormuz and the agreement?

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei’s advisor Mohammad Mokhber accused Washington of failing to implement the first part of the 14-point interim agreement, which called for a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon.

The informant warned that energy supplies in the Middle East would remain halted until the agreement is implemented. His comment comes amid renewed clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, raising new doubts about the stability of the Lebanon ceasefire.

Iran Strait of Hormuz Closure: Iran has announced again that it will close the Strait of Hormu

It should be noted that the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last week, after which the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz was announced. But after Israel continued its attacks on Lebanon, tensions in the region seem to be rising again. During this tension, 13 ships with Indian flags were stuck in Hormuz. Iran’s joint military command announced on Saturday once again that the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz would be stopped. The Iranian military called this the first step and warned that if the violations continued, further actions would be taken.

The Iranian military cited the reason behind its decision ?
